The main production is located in Chanhassen, Minnesota with 1,200 employees, and is one of the largest local businesses.

Rosemount was acquired by Emerson in August 1976.
In 1992, Rosemount was integrated with another acquisition of Emerson - Fisher Controls International.
In 2002, Fisher-Rosemount was renamed Emerson Process Management, a division of Emerson.
In 2011, the Rosemount business was recognized as one of the hundred best innovators of 2011 according to Thomson Reuters.
